I started the Data Engineering course from Project Sparta and my first impression is that it’s a learn at your own pace kind of course.
You are on your own to learn and at the end of each topic there are exams and a forum where you can talk to other students.
Here is the list of courses that I need to complete for Data Engineering.
SP 101 Getting Grounded on AnalyticsSP 201 Essential Excel Skills for Data Preparation and Analysis- SP 202 Computing in Python
- SP 203 SQL for Business Users
- SP 301 Data Management Fundamentals
- SP 302 Enterprise Data Governance
- SP 401 Dashboards and Drill-Down Analytics
- SP 501 Data Visualization Fundamentals
- SP 601 Data-Driven Research Fundamentals
- SP 701 SQL for Data Engineering
- SP 702 Python for Data Engineering
- SP 703 Advanced Data Engineering
- SP 901 Data Science and Machine Learning Using Python
- SPCapstone004 Data Engineer Capstone Course
- Complete at least 1 elective
I’m doing with the first 2 subjects and I’m currently in the SP202 Computing in Python course.
First Impressions
I felt like the first 2 topics are boring as hell. SP101 is just a person reading a presentation and the topics are more of definition of terms that I can look up on the internet. Some history is good though.
The second one is basic knowledge for Excel. Good refresher for some of the features of excel. There are also some exercises you can practice your excel chops on.
Thoughts
I’m excited to finally be done with the boring stuff and starting to get some programming topics now. Hopefully this could keep me entertained and finish.
